When Life Sucks for Teens

There are times when life really sucks.  For example.....

  • Girlfriends/boyfriends cheat on people.
  • Parents don't let you do stuff you really want to do.
  • You have no motivation for that project due tomorrow.
  • You hate the way you look.
  • You get nagged.  A lot.
  • You feel down for no reason.
  • You feel on the outer with friends.
  • You drank too much last night.
  • You had a fight with your best friend.
  • You can't sleep.
  • Your friends are depressed.
  • Your parents are furious with you.
  • You have horrible thoughts in your head.
  •  And more...

When these kinds of thing happens, you can do with some advice. What to do, what not to do. This is where "When Life Sucks for Teens" will come in handy.

Look, I'm not saying there are any easy solutions to what you are going through.  And I'm not saying that I've got all the answers either.  But I have spent 15 years listening to thousands of teenagers and spent a zillion hours talking through all the options with them.  I've learnt a lot from these teens and their situations and I've got a few ideas of what works.  So I wrote this book.  For a limited time, it is available to download directly onto your computer for easy access all the time.

Here's what I've included:  Ideas, tips, things to tell yourself, things to say (yes, the actual words), things not to do at all costs, what's normal and what's not and a few extra things that I think can make a huge difference for you right now.

Here is a free sample of a couple of chapters.

If you are a teen who can't afford to do either of these things, then read the "ONE LAST THING" at the bottom of this page.

PS: If you are a parent of a teen, this might just be the book for you to read too. It can give you some ideas when you really don't know what to say.  It will give you a "heads up" on the most typical sources of stress, worry and sadness for average teenagers.  It will give you some ideas about advice to give.  And then of course, you can hand it over to your teen :)

Before reading the ‘Life Sucks handbook’ I found that I was constantly struggling to work out how to help my friends and I found myself getting more and more anxious each day but now it is so much easier! I love how Kirrilie has included comments or experiences from people she has worked with as they help me to know that I and these people are not alone. The different things and ideas we are given to think about and use are very helpful when different issues come up in life. Overall, I have found the Life Sucks Handbook to be very, very helpful and I am sure I will continue to find it helpful long into the future.  Katie, Year 12 Student.
