Childhood Well-being Seminar Series
Over the last 23 years in working with children, families and schools managing emotional and mental health challenges, Kirrilie has developed three seminars for parents of primary aged children (and one for educators/school staff) designed to help them effectively support children with emotional health, social and mental health challenges - and life challenges. These seminars have been run for many hundreds of parents and teachers who provide positive feedback about them. For information about the individual seminar topic titles, please read on.
Individual seminar topics for parent/caregivers
Seminar one: Calm and Confident Kids
This seminar helps parents support and coach children with anxiety (eg separation anxiety, school refusal, phobias, worrying behaviours, anxiety about learning) - to help them face their fears independently, to speak calmly and positively to their children - and to be empathic and supportive - whilst not 'rescuing' children unhelpfully from situations which are tough for them.
Seminar Two: Calm and Co-operative Kids
This seminar helps parents to kindly help their children feel more co-operative, to know how to implement and give tricky instructions, and to implement routines and expectations (eg bedtimes, chores etc.) - in developmentally appropriate and supportive ways.
Seminar Three: Calm and Connected Kids
This seminar helps parents understand the normality of friendship and peer challenges, know how to support children to act in positive ways towards friends, to help parents support their children to deal resiliently with friendship and peer hassles - and to help them support their children to make and keep friendships.
Seminar Four: Child Mental Health and Well Being seminars for Professionals (Teachers, and other educational professionals working with children)
This seminar helps education professionals understand issues related to child mental health, and to be aware of practical strategies to use and support children (and their parents/caregivers) dealing with anxiety, trauma and challenging behaviour including:
Most common mental health concerns and conditions for children
Causal factors and influences on child mental health
Understanding possible contributing factors for increasing mental health concerns in childhood
Practical strategies in supporting children (and families with emotional and mental health concerns)
Comments about these seminars
Love that your presentations come with a loving empathy and parents feel you understand how challenging parenting can be. (Parent/caregiver)
I found this seminar very informative. I learnt some new things which I’m keen to try & it reiterated some things I already do which was good to know. (Parent/caregiver)
All brilliant relevant information that was delivered without judgement (Parent/caregiver)
I loved how Kirrilie was reassuring about the issues we deal with and how to take a step forward with them. I found it very helpful that she gave advice and tips that you use in your practice to help with students that we are (also) able to do. (Teacher)
What is the Cost for the Child Well-being series?
The 2025 price for the Parent/Caregiver package is $3,350 plus GST. This cost includes: All 3 parent/caregiver seminars, staff professional development seminar, and follow up letters/handouts for participants. If preferred, instead of running the whole package - schools can just book Individual seminars at a cost of $1,250 plus GST for each seminar.
Guarantee
We do not invoice for our seminars until after the seminar has been conducted. If you believe we have not connected with our audience, nor provided high quality content - then please simply call us after the seminar to say you were not 100% satisfied - and we will NOT invoice you. We are absolutely committed to providing excellent and extremely useful sessions, and therefore offer this guarantee without reservation.
Individual differences
A strong focus in all seminars for parents/caregivers is the individual differences in the needs of different children and young people have (including those managing challenges which might arise from mental health difficulties, trauma, life circumstances and neurodiversity. Instead of giving “advice” - Kirrilie’s focus is on the provision of various options for parents/caregivers - so individual parents can choose those that suit their own family needs - as well of course as ongoing acknowledgement throughout that none of this is easy!
